Loneliness is Knocking

These nights I lie in bed awake and all alone
My friend now loneliness has moved into my home
He talks subconsciously and robs me of my sleep
But then I finally wake alone and incomplete

The Sun doesn’t rise to brighten my day
Birds do not sing their melodious way
The Stars don’t come out to wink anymore
The only thing I do know and that is for sure
Loneliness is knocking at my door
Yes loneliness a friend I do abhor

The warmth that there once was the moments that we shared
Within each others arms I knew that we did care
With every laugh and smile our hearts danced to one beat
Now all of that is gone alone and incomplete

We did not need a tube of boob to keep us entertained
A deck of cards a glass of wine how quickly things did change
