Noah’s Plight

Abundance health prosperity according to God’s plan
Then man defiled the gifts divine corruption ruled the land
Where incest theft and lust ran free unchecked and unrestrained
So God He made the thunder clap applauding his disdain

For forty days and forty nights the skies unleashed the rain
Cleansing earth from all the sins of mankind’s corrupt ways
But God forewarned old Noah of plans to Eradicate
Instructing Noah build the Ark in Me you must have faith

So diligently Noah built preparing for the day
When Heaven’s bitter tears rained down and washed all life away
His work complete in pairs they came all creatures great and small
With refuge found her belly full ooh how the rains did fall

His punishment torrential rain which cleansed all human sin
When it all is over new life on earth begins

When finally the floods abate and Heaven ceased to weep
A boundless sea of azure deep far as the eye could see
So Noah loosed the dove’s to soar in search of solid ground
Time after time the doves returned no sign of land was found

Then finally one sunny day their faith put to the test
In eastern Turkey Ararat the Ark found sacred rest
The belly of the wooden beast then opened to release
All creatures from the Ark’s embrace to roam the earth in peace

With solemn hearts they gathered round and silently they prayed
With faith renewed and spirits high Noah then did say
Before you tread engrave this truth the sacred Golden Rule
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

When it all was over new life on earth began
A new world was born
